We recommend visiting Suomenlinna Sea Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1991. It was built in 1748 and is just a 15-minute ferry ride from Helsinki’s Market Square. Afterward, head towards Porvoo, Finland's second oldest town. Follow The King’s Road, a historic route dating back to the 1300s. Kings, couriers, bishops, artists, and armies have traveled this path throughout history. Along the way, you'll pass mansions, farms, taverns, alehouses, and inns that have welcomed travelers for centuries. Stop at Haikko Manor, once the home of renowned painter Albert Edelfelt, and visit the 15th-century Sipoo Old Church. In Porvoo, explore the charming Old Town on foot. Wander among the well-preserved wooden houses, visit the medieval church, and explore Town Hall Square.
